VEDH originally came together in Kathmandu,Nepal in 2060 as The Backs when bassist Bijay and drummer Chetan, former high school friends, got together and started writing songs. They soon added vocalist and guitarist Abhishek , then came up with the band name "VEDH", taken from the ethics(or purans) .
They then found a great combination between them and started jamming together whenever they meet. They performed in local shows and charitable concerts. Now they are working with their debut record which will be released in 2 months time. It is a self titled album with hit singles like "Samikshya" , "Harek Pal" , "Timilai Maile" , "Timro ra Mero".
HISTORY OF THE BAND!!!
The two music enthusiast Bijay and Chetan , classmates back then , initiated the idea of forming a classic rock band in 2000 AD since both of them were influenced by the band "The Doors". They started jamming in Chetan's place with Bijay's hollow guitar and Chetan's vocals. That was at the end of their SLC examination. At that time they composed plenty of good numbers like "Harek Pal","Matri Aama","Gaha Bhari",etc. But, they were unable to give their performance publicly due to lack of band members. Then they found two members for guitar and lead vocals ( also their class mates). with the team of four performed some college programs with the rocking numbers of the band "The Doors". They realized the need of another guitarist (for soloing) and got one. The team of 5 worked good for some months for different charitable shows and college functions. The team of five coined the name "BACKS" with their initials as the name of the band. Despite some financial problems they started recording their original songs for their first album "MANNMA" . The album consisted of slow rock, alternative rock and pop rock numbers. The song titled " Todeko mutu" was visualized and performed well in some media. But after the recording and all jobs were completed, certain disputes arised and the band had to collapse. The distributer of their album, "Sangrila Suppliers" had produced some copy of CDs which they distributed among the friends and relatives. And that was the end of "Backs".
The three members of Backs (Bijay, Chetan and Lead guitarist) teamed up and added two members, a keyboardist and Abhishek for guitars and vocals. By this time they were heavily influenced by the alternative rock band "CREED" ( after CREED collapsed in 2003). So they decided to stick on alternative rock with some eastern flavours on it. Bijay came up with the name "VEDH" to the newly reformed band which was truely accepted by all other members. They worked for some time on their previous compositions. In search of new platform they decided to participate in a music competition. That was the "Close-up Classroom Rockers competition". There they performed a cover song "Into the darkness-Kittie" for warmup and their original number "Samikchhya" for the competition. They won two category awards- Best Bassist and the Best Lyrics. More than that they were successful to attract lots of fans and even a music company for their new record.
The time was going right for the band. They started working on the new album.At the mean time they had to leave out two members due to some reason mainly: poor public relation and unwillingness of the members.Since then there is no turning back for them. Now they are ready to hit the market with their debut audio record "VEDH" including hit singles "Samikchhya","Jaba Ma Dekhchhu","Harek Pal" and "Timilai".The video of "Samikchhya" will also be aired on TV channels soon.
